Description
1930s Harmony Airplane-Bridge Johnny Marvin "Tenor" Ukulele. Condition is "Not Currently Playable"This rare vintage Johnny Marvin Ukulele is an amazing piece for any patient collector or a musician who is searching for a long term project
It is in quite poor condition as it has been sitting in an attic for many many years. It belonged to my great grandfather during World War 2 and was just recently found among his belongings. As a musician myself I would love to keep this piece but have decided to sell it as I do not have the time to fix it up.
Work on this included cleating a lot of cracks, a fret level/dress, bridge shave/refinish/and reglue, new pins, a new fret-style saddle, general cleaning, and setup. It will also need new strings and pegs on the bridge. It plays on-the-dot with 1/16" action at the 12th fret. This only has a 14 3/4" scale length, too, so the feel is in-between a modern concert (15" to 16") and a modern soprano (usually 13 5/8" or so).
This does not come with a case or any other accessories, it is just what is shown in the picture. I hope whoever ends up with this beautiful vintage piece puts tons of effort into making him beautiful again.
