2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ Sport 4.0L 4x4; 142,730 miles; Maroon (Sienna Peral) with Grey Interior; Good condition; Engine runs strong; 4x4 works great; Clean title; New headliner, New hard brakelines. The Good: As most of you may already know (if you're looking for an XJ), the Jeep 4.0L is a great motor, no check engine light. The 4.0 in this truck runs strong and has always served me well, never gotten stuck, etc. (I've owned the truck for around 10 yrs, kept it well maintained). The hard/metal brakelines to each of the four wheels have been replaced within the past two years. A new headliner was professionally installed around two years ago. The XJ has a Old Man Emu 2" lift, which I had installed around nine years ago, truck currently sits on 30x9.5 KO2's...they had enough tread to have passed inspection haven't been used much since - still, they should probably be replaced in the not too distant future. Truck has Thule roof bars w keys.
The Honest: The XJ has 142k miles so it’s hardly new; most of the issues with the truck are very typical for an XJ. Truck has much of the rust you'd expect in a twenty+ year old jeep from the northeast including some moderate rust-through on the rocker panels, the frame rails look decent to me however (see pics); FYI - I have never taken the truck on the beach. It'll need a new muffler -> back. The front driver seat frame is broken so the driver's seat rocks, a typical XJ issue that many have had fixed fairly easily. The driver side fender has a wrinkle from a minor bump from years ago (see pic). I would replace the fuel rail as it is rusty. This is a 2000 4.0 so it does have the 0331 head that has been known to have cracking issue, I haven't tested mine but this never seems to affect engine performance from my understanding (again, a typical XJ issue which is good to research).
All in all, I love the truck but it doesn't accommodate my large family and I don't want to see it sit around unused any longer.
