    These taps are quality. They will cut new threads in mild steel.
    In fact, I use them to cut new threads in annealed A2 steel alloy just prior to heat treatment hardening.
    Annealed A2 is considerably harder than mild steel.
    Now they are also my go to when power tapping softer types of steel found on the servo motors I sell.
    My go to over my Snap-On metric set. Likely due to 3 flutes and the offset cutting teeth angle making this tap easier to run than the Snap-On 4 flute strait tap.
