Description
I'm a dealer in antique and vintage linens, and during quarantine I've been practicing shibori tie dyeing with indigo and other dyes. My vintage linens give me a great - and cheap! - supply to work with! I'm ready to start sharing these with you. This is a set of vintage linen napkins hand dyed by me. The napkins are all fine linen damask measuring 16.5" square, with laddered edges. I dyed them with indigo using
shibori techniques achieving a
nice mid-blue color thanks to the vintage linen fabric. There are two pairs of similar patterns - each one is shown. I use procion fabric reactive dyes and rinse rinse rinse then launder, so you should get no bleeding and minimal fading. These are made by hand by me and are one of kind.
These are unique pieces and their patterns are slightly irregular, because they are hand created. The linen fabric is smooth, soft, and in sound condition; it will wear for a long time. The closeups show the damask pattern. They have no issues at all, but one napkin is just slightly larger than the others. Dyeing these vintage/antique linens has been a great pandemic project for me - these have such a lovely blue pattern, and they're entirely OOAK. The ones shown in the photos are the same ones you will receive.
