SPUTNIK WEATHER STATION MINT IN ORIGINAL BOX BGM W. GERMANY 1950's BAROMETER

Description

Excellent Mid-century Modern Sputnik style weather station made by B.G.M. of West Germany in the late 1950's in its original box with accessories and brochures.
This working scientific instrument contains a thermometer, hygrometer and barometer inside a clear plexiglass globe with gold finished metal accents topped by a tilted metal radar dish resembling a Sputnik satellite. It stands on a removable brass base on which it rotates freely. The barometer band is marked "Made in Western Germany", and the bottom of the brass base is marked "B.G.M. 1765968". The underside of the base has a wall mount for hanging onto a wall if desired. It comes in its original styrofoam box with inserts and a package filled with the metal spikes and rods that screw onto the globe. It also has a directions brochure in German and English and a smaller red brochure on reading the weather indications.
This working weather station stands 8.5" tall by 5" in diameter, and weighs  1.25 lbs.
