    Description

Here's a lovely set of door hardware from the '30's;  Victorian or Art Nouveau design, with beautiful plate and 4 fold knob detail.
This glorious set of antique, solid brass door knobs &  plates is a beloved design; a timeless, beautiful style that is as popular today as it was when it was introduced.
    This set includes:
    -2 cast brass door plates @ 5-3/8" x 1.5", marked "500" on reverse.
-2 Solid brass knobs @ 2.25" diameter, four-fold design on front and back of knobs!
-1 Clean spindle with 2 knob screws.
These pretty knobs were made by Taylor & Boggs (T&B Foundry) in Cleveland, Ohio in 1885 according to  Len Blumin, listed as # 21100, Vernacular School.
A great historical and very collectible pair.
Unlike so much other door hardware being offered elsewhere, these knobs/knob screws are NOT frozen to the spindle; all parts come apart for easy installation.  I have removed all the paint and various other crud-- so you don't have to--leaving a timeless, aged patina.
Not like-new or perfect; this hardware is very old but still in remarkably very good to excellent vintage condition, consistent with age and use. No issues noted,  but YOU be the judge. Lots of pictures to get a good look; review them all carefully as they are a large part of the listing. Ask all the questions you want and ask them NOW so you have all your answers BEFORE purchase.  I always encourage questions BEFORE buying if you are unsure of anything, anything at all, no matter how minor.  I am no expert on these but I want you to be happy with your purchase so review all the details including measurements to ensure they will fit your needs before purchasing. I will answer all questions promptly.  I always try to describe my items to the best of my ability, HOWEVER, I AM NO EXPERT ON THESE; I DON’T KNOW EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT THEM AND I MAY HAVE MISSED SOMETHING IMPORTANT. (I AM ONLY HUMAN!)  YOU MAY KNOW MORE ABOUT THESE THAN I DO.  DON’T ASSUME ANYTHING AND ASK QUESTIONS.
WHILE MY GOAL IS TO MAKE YOU A HAPPY CUSTOMER, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASSESS THE SUITABILITY OF THIS ITEM. LOOK AT ALL THE PHOTOS AND LISTING DETAILS INCLUDING MEASUREMENTS/DIMENSIONS ETC TO ENSURE THEY FIT YOUR NEEDS BEFORE BIDDING OR PURCHASING.  AGAIN, RE-READ THE LISTING DETAILS, REVIEW ALL THE PICTURES AND ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT ANYTHING, ANYTHING AT ALL, NO MATTER HOW MINOR.
Age, from research, is believed to be accurate but is not guaranteed. Actual age unknown. Please do your own due diligence if this is a concern.
Spindle screws may not be original.
Mounting screws/hardware not included. YOU WILL RECEIVE WHAT IS SHOWN IN THE PICS.
    All measurements approximate.
Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions whatsoever.
ADVISE WHAT SPINDLE LENGTH YOU NEED IF THIS IS IMPORTANT TO YOU; OTHERWISE I WILL SHIP MY CHOICE.
So, let's get rid of that cheesy, cheap looking contractor-grade, door hardware you and everyone else in the 'hood has and install some beautiful antique door hardware that will set you apart and make your doors, and the rooms they are in sparkle.
There is nothing like QUALITY USA-made antique hardware to showcase your decor and make your home look fabulous. The newer, imported hardware you see in retail stores is, in a word, terrible! Don't waste your time and money.
I love these oldies and so will you once you see them in person. You won't be disappointed but please ask questions PRIOR to purchase because all sales are final, with no returns or refunds.
These old door sets were originally used with a mortise lock that was “mortised” (slipped) into the edge of the door, but you don't need one; a "tube latch" will work on modern doors. I can provide either tube latch or mortise lock (with proper key), for additional cost.
Check out all my door hardware listings; there is something for everyone!
